Wanli (1572-1620) mark and period wucai ‘zun’ altar vase – estimated at £20,000-40,000 at Duke’s.

Standing just over 10in (26cm) high, it is decorated with panels of prunus, magpies and leafy bamboo with busts of fantastical lion-like beasts applied to the centre.

From a private Surrey collection, the estimate is £20,000-40,000.
