The first 80 lots of Swann Auction Galleries’ February 7 offering of vintage posters is given over to ski subjects. The selection spans rare masters of the early 20th century such as Emil Cardinaux or Georges Dorival through to popular promotional images from the mid-century and up to a 1980s example.
Pictured above is a poster promoting Norway’s attractions as a ski destination in Claude Lemeunier’s striking graphic rendition of 1957.
The 3ft 2in x 2ft (98 x 62cm) poster in B+/B condition has an estimate of $700-1000.
