The cache of memorabilia estimated at £80-120 included a number of rarities including a poster for the posthumously released 1971 Hendrix documentary Jimi Plays Berkeley (misspelt Berkley) and another for an early line-up of Fleetwood Mac including Jeremy Spencer and Peter Green.

“As soon as the sale went online, interest grew daily, particularly in posters with photographs of Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd and Deep Purple,” said Bellmans specialist Denise Kelly.

Interest translated into bids at the July 10 sale at Wisborough Green when the lot sold to a UK collector at £5500.
