Bonhams is to sell the Eric Steiner collection in its Los Angeles rooms on October 10, under the title The Contents of a Virginian Country House.

The diverse selection combining Old Masters, Contemporary art, English furniture and decorations and Asian works of art furnished the Steiner residence in Virginia in a décor masterminded by the interior designer Christopher Hodsoll.
Some of the items on offer are monumental pieces, including this early 19th century ebony and rosewood inlaid pollard oak seven leaf extending dining table in the manner of George Bullock measuring 19ft 6in (5.9m) when extended.
It has an estimate of $30,000-50,000.
