Two suits of armour that emerged in recent auctions at Continental salerooms.

At Hermann Historica’s (25% buyer’s premium) November 5-23 sales series in Munich a composite Milanese field armour of c.1579-80 sold for €80,000 (£71,000).
Dating from the late 15th century, a Gothic full field armour in the Innsbruck style, complete with visored sallet and an early coat of mail, reached €72,000 (£63,885).
At Czerny’s (20% buyer’s premium) in Sarzana on December 8 anearly 17th century Maximillian full armour reached €57,000 (£51,350).
